NOSE CONTOURING : EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

I feel like this is a very important part of your makeup routine. It's that one blog post that I spill ALL. My pet peeve is when I see obvious nose contour! As a perfectionist, harsh contour really irks me.

I'm going to explain my knowledge on nose contouring as much as I can and I will include diagrams to show you. Many of you reading this have either hook, slight hook, bulbous nose, drooping tip, wide bridge, crooked from the front, long, short, wide... Which ever shape you have there are ways to make it less prominent. I'm not a surgeon so I won't promise perfect results.. Just enough for it to look smaller? Defined? YES.

Some of you, like me who have a wide nose and others who have decided to choose to go under the knife and try rhinoplasty which is a personal preference. Some of you who have fear of going under the knife to have their nose reshaped. That's where contouring comes in (woohoo!)

The first thing to remember when contouring is THE MORE YOU SHADE THE MORE OBVIOUS IT WILL LOOK! I see women in real life and all over social media and I am automatically drawn to the middle of there face because the contouring is either one harsh, too orange making the nose look more prominent.

The contour shade you choose for your nose must be lighter than the one you use for your cheeks and the rest of your face. Whether your using cream or powder it always has to be a cool tone. Cool tones mimic the natural contours and shadows of the face.

STOP following the contour pictures you see on Instagram, everyone's nose is different and seeing the same contour and highlight on everyone's nose bothers Me. The key to a perfect contoured nose is BLENDING. You have to blend the product nicely into the skin to achieve that natural contoured nose without any harsh lines.

                                                            HERE WE GO

     1. WIDE BRIDGE AND NOSTRILS.

If you have a wide bridge concentrate on shading out the darker areas of this diagram and then connect with the sides of the nostrils. This is best done with a cream contour. The cream contour should be applied lightly on the nose for easy blending. It will take some practice before you perfect it.

     2. LONG NARROW NOSE

You want to make your nose appear shorter but a little wider too. Down your nose use a concealer that's three shades lighter after that apply the contour shade. Concentrate on the tips and the sides of the nose. Blend well with a beauty blender or makeup sponge or Mac 224 brush until seamless.

     3. BUMP/HOOK

STOP highlighting all the way down, you only need the tip highlighted. Shade out the bump, like shown in the diagram.

     4. BULBOUS NOSE.

Use a flat concealer brush to apply cream contour for precision, follow where the light grey color on the diagram. You want to stop where I have put the black line. Use a powder or a white eyeshadow in the center, making sure it's a thin line. Buff and blend with any small blending brush.

Best done over your foundation because it shows more but not obvious. The key is to blend. It's pretty simple to follow the directions on these images that's why there's less description. Be patient and practice. I'm not promising miracles but it's a difference

                                                   Conquer that contour!

MISTAKES YOU COULD BE MAKING WHEN WASHING YOUR FACE

There are some steps you should be following when washing your face to get the job done right. Don't worry - it's not hard, but you will notice a difference in how clean and fresh your face looks and feels in a very short amount of time. From now on, here are the mistakes you must quit making. Believe me you're going to be happy you read this.

     1. YOUR USING HOT WATER WHEN YOU SHOULD BE USING WARM WATER
First of all you might think that hot water is better at killing germs, but it's way too harsh for your skin. It strips the natural moisture from inside your skin, which can leave you with dry, parched skin on your face. Warm water is perfectly good at removing products, dirt and bacteria from your skin and it preserves the hydration you need for healthy skin.

     2. YOU RUB YOUR SKIN INSTEAD OF PATTING IT GENTLY
Your skin is the most delicate on your entire body so you should be treating it with daily tender care. When you finish washing your face , never rub it dry. You should gently pat it with a soft towel. This would get rid of excess water, but doesn't stretch and pull your skin, which can lead to fine lines and wrinkles.

     3. YOU USE AN EXFOLIATION CLEANSER EVERY SINGLE DAY
Exfoliation is great for removing dead skin cells and residual gunk lingering on your face, but too much of it isn't a good thing. Two or three times per week is good to keep your pores clean and to prevent breakouts. Excess of that can cause your skin to be irritated, red or raw skin on your face.

     4. USING THE WRONG FACIAL CLEANSER
Make sure you are using a facial cleanser that suits your skin type. It might be oily, dry or normal. Whatever the case, look for a facial cleanser that is good. Using any facial cleanser won't target the issues you're dealing with and won't solve the problem.

      5. YOU DO NOT RINSE YOUR FACE PROPERLY
Many girls don't take out time to rinse there face properly, myself included. Always in a rush to rinse your face. This means you leave the residual cleanser on your face and it can lead to breakouts due to clogged pores. Make sure you rinse well. It only takes a couple of seconds.

     6. YOU DONT FINISH THE JOB WITH MOISTURIZER
Apply moisturizer after washing your face is a step you should never skip. The best time ton apply moisturizer is when your skin is still damp from being washed. The moisturizer locks the moisture into your skin, holding it there to hydrate your face. This results, dewy, fresh, radiant and young looking skin.

EVERYTHING YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT MAKEUP SETTING SPRAY

Makeup setting spray is a magical product that promises to keep your makeup in place all day long and all night too, if you're planning on hitting the town all night. It's a good idea to understand the product before using it.

1.THE SPRAY SHOULD BE THE LAST STEP IN YOUR MAKEUP ROUTINE

Setting sprays makes a similar promise to what primers promises. However, unlike primers, the setting spray is formulated to be the last step in your makeup routine. You need to complete your entire makeup look and then use the setting spray to hold it all in place. It works by preventing your cosmetics from absorbing into your skin, so that they stay where they belong until you're ready to wash them off.

2 . ONLY A SMALL AMOUNT OF THE SPRAY IS NEEDED

When it comes to setting spray, more is not Better. In fact, you want to go easy on the makeup spray  or it won't do the job it's designed to do. When your ready to use the spray, slightly strech your hand away from your face and lightly mist it on top of your makeup to help it stay put. That's all you really have to do to get a flawless finish.

3 . YOU MIGHT NOT NEED THE SPRAY EVERY SINGLE DAY

If, for the most part, your makeup looks the same at the end of the day as it did when you went out. You probably don't need a setting spray. If your planning to go for a big event or a night out it probably be a good time to use a setting spray. In general, you can use it everyday, if you wish cause it gives it a good finish and more like skin and would last all day.

4 . SETTING SPRAYS ARENT RIGHT FOR EVERY GIRL
Just because a product exits doesn't mean it's a good choice for just anyone. If you have a sensitive skin or specific skin conditions, you may not benefit from the spray. Because many of them contain alcohol, you may notice that your skin gets dry when you use it often.
